Teeth Whitening

Having a beautiful smile may be even easier than you think. Many people achieve the look they’ve been dreaming of with our  “whitening” procedures we offer.

Just let us know at any appointment if you would like to whiten your teeth. You can lighten only your upper teeth or both the upper and lower, depending on how much you show when you talk and smile. With a thorough oral examination and shade assessment, Dr. Lakhani can determine if you are a good candidate for whitening and discuss which type may work best for your individual needs.

Dental whitening can be used to correct tooth discoloration. Discolorations can be caused by staining, aging, or chemical damage to teeth. Using the latest in whitening technology, we can offer a safe method for creating a beautiful “brilliant” smile. In cases of extreme tooth discoloration, crowns or veneers may be the only choice, but because of the low cost of whitening treatments, teeth whitening is nearly always worth a solid try.

What TYPES of teeth whitening do we offer?

Go Whitening:  A simple series of 10 preloaded trays with a bleaching agent already dispensed in the trays.  You use each tray for 30-40 minutes per day to achieve the desired whiteness.  These can be stored in the refrigerator if you do not use all of the trays and can be used for touch ups after cleanings or as your teeth get stained from normal daily habits.

Custom Take Home Bleach Trays:  We take an impression of your teeth and in only a day or two your custom bleach trays will be ready for you to pick up. We provide you with a special bleaching agent that you put into the clear trays. With only a few hours of wear per day, our special bleaching agent bubbles stains right out of your enamel in a very short time without altering tooth structure or existing dental work in any way. When your teeth reach the desired brightness, only occasional treatment is needed to maintain your new smile.

Boost Whitening:  Boost is an in office procedure where the dentist applies the bleaching agent to your teeth while you are in the dental chair.  The bleach is activated when applied  and monitored by the team while you are in the chair.  Once the level of whiteness is achieved, we will tell you how to maintain you new bright smile.  You will still need to maintain your whitening with either the GO or Custom trays.

Key Benefits of Teeth Whitening

  • Corrects brown, yellow and spotted tooth staining
  • Is a near-permanent solution for a “dull” smile, restoring brightness and brings a smile alive
  • Can be done in the comfort of your home

Teeth whitening at home is not recommended for children under thirteen or so, because their teeth are still developing. It is also not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, to avoid chemical exposure of the child.
