Intraoral Cameras

Our handheld, camera-tipped intraoral camera allows us to capture high-resolution images of your teeth and gums. It also projects them onto a nearby screen so that you, too, can see exactly what Dr. Lakhani sees. Not only is this a valuable tool for diagnosing certain dental problems, but it allows us to better inform you of the reason and importance of treatment.

iTero® Scanning System

Our iTero® scanning system can be used for digital impressions, decay detection, and whole mouth evaluations. Using a handheld device, the scanner captures images of your oral anatomy and produces a 3D model on a nearby computer screen. After making the necessary adjustments, our team can send this scan to a local laboratory where technicians can begin to fabricate your customized restoration. We can discuss treatment with patients such as wear on teeth, tooth decay, bite guards, and even Invisalign.

All-Digital X-Rays

Dental X-rays have been in dental offices for quite some time; however, these traditional radiographs take much time to develop and are not viewed as the safest option for patients. This is why we’ve switched to digital X-rays. Not only do they emit less radiation, but they produce higher-resolution images, making it easier to identify problem areas early on. Also, the images can be viewed immediately instead of waiting hours for harsh chemicals to develop the film.

Cavity Detection System

Although cavities can be detected with the help of digital X-rays and a visual exam, our team now enlists the help of the iTero® scan using NIRI (near infra-red technology). This device can detect and monitor dental caries above the gum tissue without the use of radiation and is extremely accurate. By identifying these problem areas early on, we can minimize the potential for restorative care in the future.
